The ODOR-GC project aims to develop an innovative instrumental and modeling infrastructure for the rapid and integrated monitoring of olfactory nuisances. The core of the project is a miniaturized gas chromatographic analysis instrument designed for field use, available in two versions: a cabinet for fixed installations and a portable case. This setup will effectively address various application scenarios, including occasional monitoring of transient phenomena and continuous monitoring at known sources of olfactory nuisances.

The ODOR-GC instrument will be complemented by a meteorological modeling system that forecasts the dispersion and trajectories of odors, presenting this information to stakeholders via a geolocated and intuitive graphical interface dashboard. The complete system will be validated in the laboratory and through six field measurement campaigns at project partner sites, with comparisons to reference analytical (GC-MS) and sensory (dynamic olfactometry) techniques.

The ODOR-GC partnership includes companies involved in environmental monitoring regulatory tables, as well as potential producers and distributors of ODOR-GC systems.
